Questions and answers
When are tomorrow's prices published?
Around 14:00 Finnish time (13:00 CET). Bids close at 13:00 Finnish time, and the result usually comes out between 13:45 and 14:00, with a price for every 15 minutes. If the auction is delayed, the prices come later in the afternoon.
Can tomorrow's prices still change?
No. Once published, the auction result is final, and a spot contract bills exactly these prices. The hourly prices in the table are averages of the four quarter-hour prices.
Can I tell whether tomorrow will be cheap before the prices are out?
Roughly. Wind decides a lot in Finland: Fingrid publishes a forecast of wind power, and a windy, mild day usually means low prices. Cold, calm weather and nuclear outages point the other way. The exact prices are known only after the auction.
