Questions and answers

Why does DK1 often have the same price as Germany or Norway?

DK1, Jutland and Funen, has cables to Norway, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. When a link has room, DK1 shares its price with that neighbour: on windy days often with northern Germany, on calm days often with southern Norway (NO2) or Sweden (SE3). Much of Denmark's wind power is here too, so DK1 prices can drop below zero.

Why does the price change every 15 minutes?

Since 1 October 2025 the day-ahead market sets a price for every quarter hour instead of every hour. The hourly price in the table is the average of the four quarters.

Do the prices include VAT?

Use the switch to see prices with or without 25% VAT (moms). In Denmark VAT is charged on the spot price, the tariffs and elafgift alike.
