Colours compare each price with the day’s average; a price is marked as expensive only if it is above the average by at least 12.510 øre (NO4: 10 øre).

Will electricity be more expensive than usual tomorrow?

No, about as usual. The day's average price is close to the average of the last 30 days in NO1 and NO5. The day's average price is lower than the average of the last 30 days in NO2, NO3 and NO4. In general, Norway's hydropower keeps the price fairly even through the day, and the southern areas pay more than the north.

About the prices

These are day-ahead spot prices from the single European day-ahead auction (SDAC). Source: ENTSO-E Transparency Platform. They cover the energy only: grid fees, levies and the supplier's mark-up come on top. "With VAT" includes 25% VAT. In NO4, households in Nordland, Troms and Finnmark pay no VAT on electricity; the part of Trøndelag in NO4 pays 25% VAT.

Prices are converted from euros at the European Central Bank rate of Fri 23 Oct.

Questions and answers

When are tomorrow's prices published?

Around 13:00 Norwegian time every day. Bids for the next day close at 12:00, and the auction result usually comes out between 12:45 and 13:00, for every 15 minutes in all five price areas. If the auction is delayed, the prices come later in the afternoon.

Can tomorrow's prices still change?

No. Once the auction result is published, the prices for the next day are final, and a spot-price contract bills exactly these prices. The hourly prices in the tables are averages of the four quarter-hour prices.

Will I get strømstøtte tomorrow?

Only for the hours when the spot price is above 77 øre/kWh excl. VAT (96.25 øre incl. VAT) in 2026. For those hours the state pays 90% of the part above the threshold, up to 5,000 kWh a month, and deducts it on your grid bill. If you have ordered Norgespris, you get no strømstøtte: your price is fixed instead.
